Yes, to answer your question as to whther they were able to address the 3D crosstalk issue through firmware on any previous sets, they issued a firmware update to improve the crosstalk performance of their 850B series last year. I can't confirm whether the update made a noticable difference because it was released before I purchased my 55 inch last year. I can say though, without hesitation, that 55 inch TV has absolutely no crosstalk issues and looks stunningly beautuful in 3D (from even a couple feet away), so I know how good it can look like and have a real problem accepting anything less. Although I have this otherwise beautiful 75 inch 850C series downstairs in the main room, I find myself watching most of my 3D content on the year-old set upstairs in the bedroom for this very reason. Sad. I did contact Sony and opened a support ticket. That was months ago, they called twice, the first time taking me through the usual scripted steps and, on the second call, told me their engineering department would be in touch. That was the last I heard from them and have just been too lazy to call them back. But I need to and since I'm home today, perhaps I will call them later today. I just don't have or remember my reference number but I'm sure they can look that up through my phone number. I'll keep you all posted.
